The conversion to RunUO 2.1 is coming. I've finished converting all of the code and it's ready to go as soon as you guys are. For this update we're asking that you update with us.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
1. Download the 7.0.7.1 Stygian Abyss client from [http://web.cdn.eamythic.com/us/uo/installers/20100601/UOSAClassic_7_0_7_1.exe]
2. Install the client to a separate location than your current install. (It will do this by default) Do NOT run or patch the client, it will be at 7.0.7.1 as soon as it's installed.
3. Copy our hues.mul into the UO folder.
4. Wait for the conversion.
The sooner we're all (or most of us) are at the higher client version the sooner we can push the conversion. If you're having troubles please don't hesitate to email me at GMErast (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll help you however I can.

Update: The Yuku forums seem to have returned to normal. We will keep an eye on things and update should further issues arise. Thanks!
Yuku, the host of our forums, is having technical difficulties at present. At this time you may be unable to post or access posts. Please bear with us as they work to resolve it.
Update: It appears as though we have lost all access to yuku. I have had no word from them as to the nature of the issue, or any estimate of a restoral time.

We've been hard at work setting up the 2010 edition of the Oblivion fair. We have something very special planned this year, and I know you'll all enjoy it. Our target for the fair is the week of October 10-16. That's less than two weeks away, so you all had better get saving your gold away!
As some of you know, we've been very tight lipped about the theme of this year's fair. It's close enough now that I don't mind giving you a little tease… Have fun and we'll see you at the fair!

On May 31st we finished the upgrade to RunUO 2.0. The beta testing went great and thank you to all of those who put in the time and effort to really find some bugs to make this conversion as smooth as possible. The passed two days were kind of rocky due to a freezing issue caused by the acid pools created by Solens. We fixed the bug and the shard is running as normal again. Keep your eyes on here in the next few weeks as we roll out some new things and some things you've been waiting years for.

In the event that you haven't heard, we are wrapping up work on preparations to convert the shard to RunUO 2.0. In the coming weeks we will be announcing details on the beta testing phase. This will be an open beta on a separate server from the current shard, and both will run during that time. The beta and your opinions from it will help us determine which aspects of 2.0 to embrace and which to nerf.
When the conversion is finalized, all data from 1.0 to 2.0 will be converted. You will not lose your toons, items, houses.

The last few months have seen tons of updates, bug fixes and new toys for us to play with. More are on the way, so keep your eyes open. We are also planning numerous special events including, a 24 hour event marathon that will begin February 26 at 6 PM shard time Click for details, and an Interdimensional Invasion that is yet to be rescheduled. (If you've never seen a shard event postponed by snow, you have now.)
Valentine's Day was just a few days ago, and we celebrated in style with a special contest and pit. Love Potion #9 was overflowing all across the shard. GM Animata ran a Valentine's Day pit than many have said was her best pit ever!
We have also have a facebook group for the shard now. You can find the group info at http://oblivion80942.yuku.com/topic/5859 or you can go there directly at http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=263108047611

It's Christmas time and Oblivion is running festivities in full force! The annual Christmas Bell contest is back with a brand new dungeon just for the season. Collect bells to buy Christmas deco items and maybe even win a prize. The top 3 bell collectors will all take home fun prizes for their efforts.
We also have a house decorating contest running. Once you have your house decorated, page a gm to enter it into the contest. We will place a gate to your home for the duration of the contest so that others may enjoy your decorations. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 houses after judging has taken place.
Please see the forums for more details.

Wow, it's been a while since someone made a post to this front page. I hope all of our American players had a good turkey day, and all of our non-american players had a good November 26th, which may or may not have been turkey filled for them. We've had a bunch of updates in the passed few months, including new champion spawns added and many bug fixes. Not to mention two new additions to our staff family. If you see Smurf Cyclone or Smurf Nox around be sure to say hi. Type "news" in game to see the full list of changes.
The holiday season is just about here, in the next week or so we will start all of the festivities including the annual holiday dungeon and gifts. We will also be running the fair this year with a "Winterfest" theme, so keep watch on this page and and on the forums for more information about that.

The last few months on Oblivion have been slow and there is little new. Summer has come to the US and we're all scattering from our homes to have fun in the sun. Don't let that stop you from checking out our new event "Ghettoish". Ghettoish is a PvP combat event. Makes sure to bring a skilled toon. If you ever played Ghetto PvP this may strike some similarities. I hope it does, as this is my attempt to bring back that style of event. Having never played Ghetto PvP I did the best I could. At any rate, I hope you will come on and join us!
Also, the daily event schedule has been retooled. Paintball and CTF are still on Monday and Wednesday nights, respectively. Assault has returned to Sundays, but now at 9pm. Bomberman with GM Erast has slipped onto Tuesday nights at 9. Thursdays will now see a variety of events, and will depend on the GM on that night as to what runs. Last but certainly not least is the long awaited return of Miner Wars to Friday night! I hope to see you all there, and check the events schedule for full details on all our events.

A few days ago finally the players of New Challenge where able to retake the town of Lake Shire, gaining their first foothold in this strange new land.
The new town allowed the establishment of a hub for commerce, craft and fight by gaining access to the network of merchants that travel the lands importing objects of all sorts.
This was the result of the combined effort of every player in the land, from the brave warriors to the skilled crafters.
The warriors, mages and archers of the land gathered the Dust from the undead creatures themselves, allowing The Wise to cast a powerful spell that finally broke the undead magic that infested the town.
Soon, the top three in the list of heroes will be rewarded with a special item, to recognize their efforts.
Have Fun! ~Arael

Arael's New Challenge facet is now up and running! It launched earlier today, as did it's own space on our forum. We're keeping an eye out for bugs, and have started a thread for you to post any you find.
Report Bugs Here!
I'd also like to take a moment to mention that we've opened up the sixth character slot. You won't have to delete any of your normal toons to make one for New Challenge. Just be careful and follow the directions when making your New Challenge toon. You can see the instructions for creating your NC toon here.
Creating a New Challenge Character
Admin Q let me know a short time ago that a change to the Felucca rule set made it into to this update. As most of you know, we have had a difficult time finding a way to utilize Felucca. The rule change is a simple AND ALTERABLE one. Felucca is now NO LOOTING. This is enforced by code. PK and PvP is still permitted and encouraged, but looting is gone. We are hoping that this will encourage people to go to Felucca and experience PvP. This will also allow us to add items, quests and monsters unique to Felucca. Call it a great experiment.
Many other new things were added in this update, but since I'm not a dev I can't list them for you! Besides, you want to be surprised right? I can tell you that a few gm tools were added, as were new deco items. I expect the deco store will be reopening very soon also!

11th March 2009
A lot of changes are in the works, including the highly anticipated "New Challenge" facet. GM Erast, his smurf and I are hard at work spawning the new area. We still have much to do, including a pending shard update. This will be a massive update, and will include fun, new items for the deco store, new spawns for my personal pleasure in killing you, and even a few grammatical error corrections. (Yes, I did pass 5th grade and it only took me 3 tries!)
There will also be some surprises, and although I'm sure you want to know what they are now, you'll just have to wait!

The bell hunt is now over! A lot were turned in, but three players were above all. Hades (1290), Seregon (1200) and Topaz (1125) were our top three, and all took home special prizes. Santa will think twice about returning to Oblivion! Thank you all for ridding us of his presence yet again!

13th December 2008
The 2008 Christmas Bell Hunt has begun! Christmas spawns were placed earlier this week, and the bells are flowing. Bells can be used to purchase special decorative items available only for Christmas, including GM Angel Dolls! (The Fester one is especially nice) 75 Bells gets you of your own.
The Christmas Shoppe has all the deco items you can purchase with bells. In addition to those items, the prizes for the top three bell collectors are on display there. At the end of the Christmas season, we will count all the bells you turn in. The players with the three highest totals will all win one of those special prizes! So go check out the Christmas Shoppe today! You'll find it in the Ore of Vesper building and if you're not sure where that is, just follow the trail of snow from Vesper square. It will lead you right to it.

Okay, it's been more than 2 months since the last wiki update, so as you can imagine, a lot of stuff has happened in the Oblivion world.
First of all, the 2008 Fair edition. This year's Fair was a major success, the staff made an awesome job putting together an assembly of events and areas for players to play with and explore. Events such as Fester's Maze show how creative the staff can be and The Piñata game perfectly demonstrated how the "Gummy" trend is still in. There were a lot of prizes handed out, lots of events, and a lot (really!) of FUN! :)
Aside from the fair, there were also a few updates introduced to the Oblivion world:
- Forest Defender flutes were updated (they are now known as whistles) (Vanguard)
- AFK command was updated and now supports messages (Vanguard)
- Spear Shooting Event added. (Vanguard)
- Apple bobbing script for Halloween (Tahu)
- Aquarium deed bug fixed (Vanguard)
A lot more updates are comming, keep your eyes open ;)

19th July 2008
As you all know, maintaining a wiki is not a easy task and, Oblivion staff is doing it's best along with us players to keep this as much updated as possible.
Recently, Hythloth dungeon has been revamped by the newest GM's (Animata and Fester) for the low-medium player to hunt at. Traps and Explosions can be expected though in a very balanced 'level' for the new players.
Also, Oblivion Wiki has pretty much 100% of the info required to get ANY of the new Talismans.
So go ahead and check those out!
- Vanguard
15th May 2008
Finally, talismans have been added to the game and are now in a test-stage. Oblivion staff looks forward to have us (players) using and reporting bugs we find during this time. Also, share the information and your findings about the Talismans on this wiki please for future reference of newer players!

Alot of information will come from the main site. Don't forget that if you're going to use information from there to make new pages to the Wiki, check that the information is correct as the website is really outdated. Check the forums to be sure.
